I do

When I was pregnant, my lovely DH got very practised at running into the loo when he heard me vomitting with a towel to shove between my legs so I didn't soak the carpet, and clean knickers and jeans for me , as well as the required glass of water and a head stroke

MadamAnt · 05/06/2009 08:50

Why are you sick whenever you go out?

You mean you give yourself alcoholic poisoning every time you go out, so that you vomit? To be frank I think the incontinence is the least of your problems, and you might want to get some better friends. Will these people who think it so funny even bother to call an ambulance when you end up in a coma?

l39 · 05/06/2009 09:31

cross-post.

Why do you drink at all then?

thesockmonsterofdoom · 05/06/2009 09:31

I dont drink that much, honestly, I just dont react very well to alcohol.

OP posts:
MadamAnt · 05/06/2009 09:32

Don't drink it then!

flamingobingo · 05/06/2009 09:33

Yes, I think I would just not drink it. Surely it's not worth the vomitting?

thesockmonsterofdoom · 05/06/2009 09:34

you would think that would be a good iedea wouldnt you. thing is I am really shy and I cant talk to people unless I have had a drink.
Gos I am making myself sound fab here arent I.

flamingobingo · 05/06/2009 09:35

Can you work out a limit? Like you feel comfortable enough with two drinks but vomit with three so you'll only ever have two?

thesockmonsterofdoom · 05/06/2009 09:39

tried, it seems to be very random, some days I can drink all night, others I can only manage 2 pints. and I am always sick either at night or in the morning.
always have been. It is a standing joke about how many taxi's it takes me and best mate to get hiome.
She does look after me though. She just finds the incontinence funny, she has no children so doesnt fully understand the wholoe pelvic floor thing.

girlandboy · 05/06/2009 09:43

I think if you went and told the gp about the incontinence issues when you vomit, he'll just tell you to stop drinking.

And I would agree with him. It's just not worth it.

I wouldn't be able to look forward to a night out if I knew there was a possibility of vomiting, wetting myself and feeling terrible. That's not what I would call a good night out.

jumpingbeans · 05/06/2009 09:49

then why drink? you can just a good time out with mates without getting slaughtered

thesockmonsterofdoom · 05/06/2009 09:56

jb I dont get slaughtered, I just vomit everytime I drink be it a glass of wine at home. and In know it is therefore ridiculous to drink but I enjoy a drink.
I cant explain why, and I go out about once every 3 months so it is not a major issue iyswim.
The weeing myself bit is only recent.

Bloody hell, perhaps you are alergic to it,I thought you were drinking loads and then being sick and peeing, sorry not a pretty picture i have painted of you now i see a demure ladeeeee sipping a white wine, then chuking up and peeing much better image!

thesockmonsterofdoom · 05/06/2009 10:09

end result is kind os the same though. to be fair last nght I was a demure lady drinking pints of cider and chucking up, dont think I~ can ever go back to my favouritr pub again.

I'm sorry, i did not mean to make light of it, i think you need to go to your gp and get it sorted.

If you had an intolerance to say milk that made you puke after one glass, would you still do it? I doubt it! And you say that you can be sick after "only" two pints. I'd probably be sick after two pints, and I don't consider myself to have an intolerance to alcohol. To be honest it sounds like you / your friends have a very different concept of reasonable drinking (and what constitutes as a fun night out)to me.

I know I'm giving you an unwanted lecture, but really, it's just tacky to be vomitting and pissing yourself during a night out. I would be mortified, and I doubt my friends would be so understanding if it was a regular occurrence. Regardless of any possible intolerance or allergy, I'm surprised that the horror of such an embarrassing reaction to alcohol hasn't made you teetotal!

thesockmonsterofdoom · 05/06/2009 14:07

lecture is taken, tbh I am feeling utterly ashamed of myself today. I am at a bit of a low ebb self esteem wise and am acting like a proper twunt.
