Strong odour....

Bit embaressed but haven't name changed... Has anyone noticed or 'suffered' this:

I am prefectly healthy, have an active sexlife, (well, have a steady partner for last 2.5 years). I don't have any 'vaginal' problems like thrush or anything... Been recently to the Dr's for smear all clear and everything... apparently nothing 'wrong'.

When I get together with my partner the odour my 'secretions' give off is so strong I feel quite embarressed about it . He wouldn't say of course, but it is noticable . As we get together once every two weeks approx, we get it on quite frequently throughout the weekend. The 'smelly' time is the first bout. After that, it seems odourless and quite normal. No problem with dryness. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Was wondering if it's hormones (am bit over 50) and can't remember ever having this problem. Still have monthly periods, regular as clockwork and not clinically pre menopausal yet. Why is it so strong smelling? It would comfort me to know that others have this 'problem' and I am in the realms of 'just normal'.

was wondering if it was some kind of subliminal odour signal thing from way back to the cave man days...

Hi Kally,
Lets share!
Sorry to get into details, but is it [whispers] fishy?

When I first experienced this I thought wtf is going on?

I sometimes get what the doc calls Bacterial Vaginosis. You may have the same thing. Its not sexually transmitted its like a bacteria that is present but the hormonal changes in our body makes it multiply under certain conditions.[ I think]

I have had it with a new partner, but also when I dont have a partner at all. I was on the pill, for a few years and stopped getting it, since I came off 6 months ago it comes back immediately after my period, and I dont have a partner. But it doesnt smell this time.
As the gp treats with a very strong Antibiotic, I am just putting up with it at the mo.

Try googling it.

Yes, posted this on another topic and got loads of replys, all indicating the same thing as this BV. Umph... seems like I must have this and I'll be off to the Dr's on Teus. I thought that anitbiotics upset the sweet balance of the good flora and bad flora in that area, and yet here they andminister antibiotics for the treatment of... strange. I did have thrush a while back and used yoghurt but perhaps it wasn't 'strong' enough. You will laugh... but I ride a bike constantly (do miles a day) and I thought it might be because of that (you know chaffing and pressure etc) not that it is sore or dischargy or anything, just so flipping stinky and I feel like cringing...only during the first 'round' though, after that it seems to have a normal odour ... our bodies do let us down sometimes...
