Why do my heels hurt so much?

One of my heels stated hurting a few days ago. Started with a constant ache that got worse when pressure was applied, but wasn't too bad.

Now both heels are the same - really sore to stand on and the pain is starting to move along my foot and up the back of my legs IYSWIM.

I haven't been wearing daft shoes or doing any more exercise than normal, so can't work out why this has started, or what it is.

Any ideas??

Im not a foot doctor but that sounds like plantar fascitus(sp?) they suspected ds1 had this a couple of years ago.

I've just looked it up on-line and it sounds like you could be right.

Is it something that will re-occur once it's better? Doesn't sound like there is much to do about it other than calf muscle exercise.
