Nope but those symptoms do sound a right mixed bunch.

GP?

tryingtobemarypoppins · 15/05/2009 21:06

Anaemia can cause exhaustion, sore mouth, food cravings, headaches, and more.

Whatever it is, you are not going mad.

AnarchyAunt · 15/05/2009 21:08

I am not a GP btw, nothing like!

tryingtobemarypoppins · 15/05/2009 21:16

Thanks Anarchy!

I wondered about anaemia as well

Also might be worth asking for a blood test to test your thyroid levels. Some of your symptoms are similar to those experienced when you have underactive thyroid.

slowreadingprogress · 15/05/2009 21:45

exhausted all the time is very characteristic of lack of thyroid function

also the other thing that stood out was 'glazy eyed' - do you mean feeling kind of 'muzzy' like you can't fire on all cylinders? or organise your thoughts, cope with what you used to?

this was me, and I was diagnosed underactive thyroid and put on thyroxine which has helped alot.

Stinkermink · 15/05/2009 21:50

marypoppins, I felt like some of these. Especially the tired one, go and see your GP and ask for tests for anaemia, diabetes and thyroid function also look here www.patient.co.uk/ it's the site my GP told me to look at.

I had the following symptoms

Constant tiredness
Frequent bowel movements
No or little interest in food
My hair was falling out even 4 months after stopping breast feeding
My eyes hurt
Really thirsy
Panicky feeling - palpitations

They tested me for all of the above mentioned and I have hyper thyroidism. Took about a month to settle down, but much more normal now.

Thanks so much for your thougts. My mum had an over active thyroid - I don't know if thats related? I am cold alot to at the moment, freezing feet. The 'glazy eyed' thing makes me feel a bit not fully in the room IYKWIM??

I will go and see the GP I was a bit worried they may think I was going mad.....

Could be diabetes - get it checked out. Good luck x

Imoverhere · 16/05/2009 22:35

I was going to say thyroid. My SIL has underactive thyroid and feels like you a lo and I've read that it can come on after pregnancies.

See your GP.

mousemole · 17/05/2009 15:43

sounds like an underactive thyroid - I felt the same as you described but felt much better when on medication
