I've got a cluster of little spots inside my vagina - just on the one side, not far from the 'opening' Don't have any more anywhere else besides these.

I'm 31 weeks pregnant, so at first I thought it was maybe a yeast infection/thrush - but I have no extra noticeable discharge, and there is no smell. Ah this is grim, sorry!

They're quite sore, and sting when I pee depending on the concentration of the pee Please don't make me see my GP - he's gorgeous and whacking out a spotty fanjo in front of him is something my nightmares are made of!

Any ideas?

Sorry but, Warts?

Could they just be spots? You have hair follicles down there and entirely feasible that they are spots like you would get on your face. Reason for stinging may be that when the spots burst they don't scab over like they would on your face as things are moist down there, so you're weeing on an open wound.

If this is the case then good news is they heal up pretty quickly (Yes, I do speak from experience )

The skin started off quite sore, just like a patch of inflamed red skin, but now these little whiteheads have popped up, they're gross

I tried a bit of Nair cream down there a week or so ago, after reading the back which said "don't use on genitals"... but I did anyway. Is there any chance it's just a reaction from that? Really can't see how it can be anything more 'sinister'..

Entirely feasible that it's a reaction, or could be some ingrowing hairs (far TMI, sorry) why don't you try some sudocrem to ease the irritation? If you are concerned why not speak to your practice nurse or midwife on the telephone?

SheWillBeLoved · 15/05/2009 19:31

I've tried sudocrem, did buggar all tbh. I've just popped on a bit of Diprobase cream and it seems to have taken the sting off bleurgh. I don't think it's ingrowing hairs, that wouldn't start off like a raised patch of inflamed skin would it..?

I hate having people prodding around my bits, hence me asking on here instead of just being a grown up and getting checked out

At 31 weeks it must be pretty awkward for you to take a peek as well!

I'd see how you get on over the weekend and then try to speak to a practice nurse on Monday.

Hope all goes well with the rest of the pregnancy.

Aye, lots of squatting over a magnifying mirror in a completely dignified manner

Thanks for the advice, I'll see how I get on

'don't think it's ingrowing hairs, that wouldn't start off like a raised patch of inflamed skin would it..?'

IME, that's exactly how ingrown hairs down there start off. With a sort of red raised bump, eventually turning into a whitehead.

SheWillBeLoved · 15/05/2009 19:59

The skin didn't start off as a bump though, it had the appearance of a burn.. like a patch of raised red skin which stung like mad! Then over the past day or so.. these little boil type things have popped up

The appearance of it in the beginning is what made me think it was some sort of thrushy type infection, but then I remembered the Nair which could have burnt my skin I suppose? Although I don't see how that would then turn into a cluster of little whiteheads..

ooh, that does sound different. Maybe it's a combination of things? Like a reaction to the cream followed by spots?

Sorry, I've been no help at all!
