Anyone had smear/colposcopy privately?

I have been back and forth for 2 years now, having 2 smears then a colposcopy and now another smear. The results are going to take 2 months and the consultant saw white cells under the microscope, but decided to only do a smear.

If I go private I presume the results will be quicker (got to wait 2 months for the results) and the care will be better. I just feel that I am being left a little too long on the NHS. I have private cover through DHs work and have never used it, so feel now might be the time.

I went for one privately a couple of years ago, as couldn't wait for the NHS timings.

I was referred by and NHS DR and had an appt within two weeks, then the results were back within two weeks - I did not need further treatment but can assume if I had it would have being done just as fast.

i had smear then colposcopy on the NHS - the results of the colp freaked me out so much that I couldnt handle the waiting time for the laser treatment so went private. it was done really soon after and all follow up proved clear.

Thank you ladies...I have made an appointment with the GP for a referral. I want to TTC, so the sooner this is over and cleared up the better.
