i had my third child in april last year and after watching that embarrassing illnesses programme, i think i have a prolapsed cervix.i know im not the same there as i was after the first too but now i am quite worried about it. i have been doing my pelvic floor albeit sporadically, is there anything that can be done, fell too embarrassed to go to my (male) gp.

Hi lovelycupoftea

I know the programme you saw. I have a prolapse, mine started with lower back pain. I went to Dr who referred me to Gyno Dr at hospital. I am waiting for repair op now.

My Dr didnt examine me but the gyno did. Was over in few minutes.

Bite the bullet and go to the Dr.

please don't be embarrassed - see your GP and get it sorted out I am 4 weeks post op from having my prolapse repaired, the consultant said she was seeing so many more young women (usually mums!) with prolapses these days.

I think it depends what has prolapsed - in my case it was the front wall of my vagina which meant that my uterus and bladder felt much lower. the surgeon removed some of the loose vagina and tightened it all back up again. they did refer me for physio first and I had a urodynamics appt which showed them the extent of my symptoms but the surgery helped (at least it seems to have, I can sneeze again without wetting my self!!)

Ouch - Oh those were the days when you could sneeze, cough and laugh without wetting yourself. I cant wait.

Lovely - I am having a repair, which means i am being re-attached.
