Random question - will hair dye kill head lice?

I'm thinking the chemicals can't do em much good can it?

Planning on dyeing my hair anyway. I am itching lately but combing is bringing out nothing , just wondering if I could have a random bonus to dyeing my hair.

Those feckers will survive a nuclear explosion, but it's worth a try I guess

AnarchyAunt · 12/05/2009 13:26

Not IME.

Hair bleach will however, if you fancy going blonde?

MadreInglese · 12/05/2009 13:27

from yahoo question thingy:

"no it just changes their colour"

LOL

MinnieMummy · 12/05/2009 13:34

Not IME either. Had the little fuckers for a couple of months without realising (I KNOW, but this was pre-kids so it just didn't occur to me that's what it could have been) and had my hair cut and coloured at hairdressers twice and they didn't notice. (that's the hairdressers, not the lice. Don't know what they thought.)

Comb in shower with lots of conditioner on?

ComeOVeneer · 12/05/2009 13:35

Nope and apparently neither will hair straightners.

Flamesparrow · 12/05/2009 13:38

Gah. pretty coloured little gits it is then.

I have been doing the conditioner, I treated about a fortnight ago, but still itchy.

Although where I am not finding anything, I guess it could just be a random hormone thing

lol at 'change their colour'

MadreInglese · 12/05/2009 13:48

Are you rinsing well? Product build up can cause mucho itching

MayorNaze · 12/05/2009 13:49

i thought it did?

last salon colour i had i warned the hairdresser i might have some "guests" - she said to treat them as i usually would before my appt, but that the dye would gas the feckers anyway?

do some highlights, bleach them albino
