Found lump in breast when having shower, weirdly I can't really feel it when pressing from the front but can if I press in from both sides IYKWIM. Please tell me all the innocent things it could be to keep me calm until I see the doctor next week.

Are you sure its new? Mine feel different from the front than from the sides. from the sides they feel all lumpy and grisly (yuk). Even so it could be all kinds of perfectly innocent stuff like a blocked milk duct, benign cyst, normal monthly changes.

Defo pop to the docs though and get them to check. Or see the practice nurse first.

Hi
I am new to posting on this site though I have lurked for a while. I'd just like to add, without alarming you, that you probably know best whether this is unusual or not. By all means see the doctor, and they will probably reassure you that it is, indeed, nothing to worry about at all. But keep an eye on it, and if it remains the same over a period of time, or develops in any way, ask for further checks.

I say this with feeling because i visited my doctor with worries over my breast - in my case a change in shape - the doctor could feel nothing and dismissed it. i then got called for a routine mammogram, just on one of those standard 'checking everyone' programmes. And thank God I did, as mine turned out to be sinister.

According to my surgeon, changes in shape should ALWAYS be fully investigated, and he was quite annoyed with my GP. A bit of pain or a feeling of hardness are different, they can have many benign causes, but just be vigilant.

I am quite sure yours will be absolutely fine, by far the vast majority are. But my point is, keep an eye on it, and go with your gut feeling. If you feel it needs further monitoring and investigation - GET IT DONE.

And good luck!
