Heeeelllloooo! The thread title jumped out at me and slapped me round the face.

I don't want to sound obseesed about weight, but I have never had to stop and think about what I am eating before.
And I too am eating all the time.
And I am guilty of lecturing people about healthy eating in the past

Go to slimming world - that is what I am doing and haven't put anything on, not losing but not putting anything on which is good. And am chomping all the time, fruit and yogurt mainly - especially things I have to peel so my hands are busy.

southeastastra · 07/05/2009 15:00

fruit is probably a good one, i love little satsuma things.

hello molly read your last post to see if anyone had replied so though i'd start one for us!

i ate loads today at work.

Trouble is, I already eat a lot of fruit and veg (I am a 10/10nner!) but It isn't stopping me eating everything else.

God, stoppng smoking can't affect one's metabolism this severely. Perhaps we will plateau out?

SEA have you actually, definitely put weight on? I know I have.

MadamC, don't think Slimming World is right for me for varous reasons, but I wish you continued success there.

southeastastra · 07/05/2009 16:26

haven't weighed myself but pretty sure have put on a few extra pounds. think i may have to take up running or something.

I found that strong coffee helped. Probably not an ultra healthy option but at least it's not fattening.

southeastastra · 07/05/2009 16:34

i was thinking strong or even black coffee might be good

OP posts:
mollyroger · 07/05/2009 18:55

ohhhh. I haven't drunk black coffee for decades. But when I first started smoking - it was those awful consulate things and we drank black cofee and wrote crap poetry...

Have been shopping and stocked up on ryvetas and celery and carrot sticks. I seem to crave crispy things!

Will also make some popcorn as that is zero fat.
I don't actually care what I eat as long as I am eating something - DH is following me round with a distinctly hopeful expression

I was reading up on this the other day and it is apparently because smoking keeps your blood sugar regular (or something like that) so when you stop it takes a while for your body to adjust thus you feel the need to eat because your blood sugar seems low it takes 20 mins for food to make any difference to your blood sugar so you eat more (or something).

mollyroger · 07/05/2009 19:34

wow! That's very interesting and compelling.
But I am on day 30 something now, so I think it is all in my head.

southeastastra · 07/05/2009 20:12
