What's wrong with me? Keep getting ill

Every month since November I have had a 'knock out' cold - it knocks me out for a week - I start to feel better so work as normal, have one week feeling just about better and then get another cold a few days later.

This week I have been feeling truly awful. I thought it was hayfever - but the last few days I have had a fever and the last two days I've been so tired I've had to go back to bed. My body feels swollen all over iywsim.

Haven't been to the GP as they'd just say its a virus - but it can't be normal to have spent the last 6 months constantly fighting colds etc.

Any ideas? Does anyone have good recommendations for remedies to build up my immune system again?

have you young children who have just started nursery/school.....i found that i got one thing after another from oct-march when dd started creche and it continues now she is at school

no idea how to stop it....have tried first defence and regular handwashing, echinacea, good diet etc but can't really tell if they have helped

dd has been at nursery for a while but has been completely fine so haven't picked anything up from her

I have a good diet with lots of fruit and veg - go to bed as early as I can but just feel wiped out.

if just you is it worth going to gp, not about being ill this time but about having been unwell for a while.....might at least check bloods

go to GP, hget checked out, could be you need more iron or someting else. Pleas e do, go its unlikely to be anything serious but after whats happened with my dh and him getting sick all the time, Im always careful

Buy echinacea made by Vogels and don't take a break from it, my health shop swear by it and I have been taking it for a couple of months now and so has my son who is 4 and it has really helped.

It will take 2 months to kick in though. Of course a healthy diet is also essential.

Good luck!
