Hello! I'm very new to this (in fact I'm a chat room virgin!!), but I have a question I'm too embarassed to ask my doctor as I don't want to seem silly , so thought I'd try this out as some of the threads I've been reading have been really helpful for other things!

I've got thrush (again! Very boring!) but have promised my son I'd take him swimming tomorrow - I know that can irritate the condition, (but not as much as the guilt from breaking a promise to a three year old!), so I wondered if anybody knows if I risk passing it on by going swimming?

Part of me thinks "that's what chlorine's for", but another part thinks "so how do you catch veruccas at the pool?"!

Hope you can help!

I can't believe that the fungal infection would get through your swimming costume and then survive the chlorine. Unless it is spectacularly bad, in which case you wouldn't want to go swimming anyway, I don't think you should worry.

Welcome to MN (what a funny first post you will have to look back on)

Thank you! I won't worry now and will look forward to being woken by an excited three year old!!

I agree, I'll probably look back at this a few months from now and think Oh No I can't believe I put that as my first message!!

Thanks again!
