I'm suffering with thrush, I've tried the pessary, the oral tablet and lots of cream but it doesn't seem to be easing and it's really annoying me now but I can't get to see a doctor due to work commitments, I can't even have a telephone appointment because I don't want to discuss it in front of others so what else can I do?

try natural yoghurt on a sanitary towel
very soothing
the cream made mine worse
if your using condoms for contreception then they could be causing it

no knickers (and no tights either of course!)
stay off the sugar
lots of water
paracetamol

If the pessary tablet and cream hasnt worked perhaps it isnt thrush??

Can you stop at a supermarket and speak to the pharmacist?

DrivingMeInsane · 29/04/2009 13:55

I have just spoken to my mum and she's said the tablet I've taken will take 24hours to start working but I should see an improvement soon and also to drink lots and live yogurt on a tampax will ease the discomfort until the tablet works.

Thanks for your advice, I was feeling really fed up but now I've spoken to my mum and the end is hopefully in sight I feel a bit better!

It is definitely thrush I've had it a few times and I've been on antibiotics which always give me thrush so I should know by now not to take them but sometimes you need the antibiotics more than the risk of maybe getting thrush but this time has been the worst episode I've had! Normally a pessary will sort it out overnight and cream eases it.

Right......It's still bothering me

I've now tried live yogurt and sleeping without knickers on and applying the cream but though it eases the discomfort it's not actually curing it. I tried to get to see the doctor today but they had no appointments apart from telephone ones so I've booked one for later, dp says I should go to newdoc tonight but I don't think they would want me to do that.

What else can I do?

I used to get recurrent chronic thrush. Canestan was as much use as a chocolate fireguard. In teh e4nd I had to have a swab taken and the Thrush was typed, once this had been done as was given a specific pessary and cream to use that cleared it up and it never came back.

Ok so I went to the docs and got a couple of big antibiotics, took them and by monday I was starting to feel better but now I still can't have sex because it's not how it is usually is, just doesnt feel right, theres no discharge or itching but it isn't normal so I went back to the doctors and I've had swabs taken, the results will be back next week. I'm really fed up of this now

What is this!? It's getting me down and I've got pmt so living with me right now is hard! Dp has gone out for the day because he's had enough of me.
