Choose and Book

I have to choose and book an appointment for my dd2. The choices cover 6 hospitals up to 40 miles away [we are isolated here].

How do I decide? Can I ring up and ask what the consultants specialise in, wher do I get the info to make a decision?

Anyone done this before? Cheers!

Sometimes the online sytem lets you know the best waiting lists.

If not, phone the helpline who can tell you.

Lastly, if all equally convenient, go for one with largest dept so more likely to get a cancellation??

DD just had a C&B referral and phoned helpline as worried appt would clash with her exams, all showing 2 month wait. They sent her one through the post for less than a months wait

the online system has told me the average wait time when i have used it.

I also had to consider how to get there (i don't drive)

I have booked it - I rang the kids dept og the hospitals and asked about the consulltants, did they see many allergies etc etc.
Made my choice, then found out that involved a 2 month wait - so have gone for 2 week wait. Even that seems an age tbh!
It's an hour and half away but worth it to get seen sooner, of course.

Thanks for the info.
