Hi does anyone know what causes them and how to prevent them please?
I had lots when pg with dc2 and not really had any since.... until recently. Woken up in the night with them 2 days running. Really wierd since I don't normally get them so was wondering if its a sign of something. Oh and definitely not pg as have AF now.

hi, my ds (5) suffers regular nose bleeds. its something to do with the carpilleries in your nose weakening/ being thin or something. ds gets nose bleeds when his temperature changes, ie in the summer when he has been running around and is too hot or when he gets a bad cold. sometimes it happens during the night for no reason at all! he got cream from the doctors to run in his nose to prevent them.

my DD1 used to get them all the time as well. Docs had a look, and she had loads of scabs up there (sorry it tmi!) which were caused due to allergys. Every so often they would loosen hence the nosebleed. Seemed like such a co-incidence that she had her one and only big seizure just before they all started, but hey ho........

anyway, back to the point of my post!! DD got some nasal saline drops and put a couple of drops in each day to moisten the scabs- no more nosebleeds!!
