Having girded loins for overdue smear tes, am now feeling panicky because bled during the test (ie caused by the test not menstrual). Anybody else had that - is it odd? In huge pother that means cervix not right...

It's perfectly normal.
At my lovely GP they give you a pad as standard because of it.

God bless you, Mrs Happy. thank you.

happens everytime with me, nothing to worry about

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/04/2009 18:30

quite normal

maybe they nicked you or you might have a fatty bit of tissue (erosion) which they touched

Thanks loopy and Blonde.

Just in case you're not reassured, happens to me too. Normal. Didn't affect ability to read the test either.

Thanks SofH, frankly more is merrier when one is a neurotic loon about these things. Still fretting a bit....

Never happened to me back in my native Australia, but the very first smear I had here in the UK made me bleed. Strange! Test came back perfectly normal though. Good luck x

happens every time to me - sometimes a few drops, others it looks like we've sacrificed a goat. Worry not.
