That's it really

What can i do? I'm not in such agony that I need to see the emergency dentist (i don't think) but it is really really unpleasant and I've been taking painkillers, but the edge of the tooth is jagged and keeps cutting my tongue - you just can't keep it away from the tooth edge, when you talk, eat, sleep it knocks against it and cuts it again. Any advice?

Yes....go see the emergency dentist you crazy lady . It sounds horribly uncomfortable.

I take you've booked an appointment.. so I'd go and get some temporary filling from a chemist.. bung it in and call dentist so see if they can fit you in sooner.

Get some temp filling from a Chemist/Pharmacy and blob it in yourself if you cant see a dentist.

I was going to suggest that temp DIY filling. I saw it in my local chemist so I reckon is available in most places. It will do the job until you can see your own dentist.

Surely there's an emergency dentist who can do something to alleviate it temporarily? I'd do that - a week is a long time to wait with that sort of thing and it could very quickly become unbearable. Off you pop!

Just blob it in, like chewing gum texture then goes solid! Works fab have some on my open nerved wisdom tooth while awaiting ga to have them out

You'll find it in Boots.

I've always got emergency kits in the cupboard in case I manage to knock my bridge out!! (highly unlikely but it could happen knowing my luck!)
