Can you help me understand my thyroid function test results?

Hi everyone,

Can you please tell me what you know about these results:

T3 - 6.5
T4 - 23
TSH - 0.02

I don't know what normal levels should be? My GP said I have borderline hyperthyroidism, I am trying to conceive after a MC last July and have not had any luck yet, I was wandering if this was affecting things?

your GP has told you what these results mean. why do you want unqualified mumsnet advice???

normal levels are dependant on the lab and which assays they use. so they are not universal.

I guess your GP will repeat them in a few weeks??? Good luck.

I am asking because these are new test results from yesterday that I have just received in a letter and the numbers mean nothing to me.

Is this not what the health section is for to ask questions before you have a chance to see a GP ? I sure no-one expects the replies in this section to be "qualified", just looking for guidance from some one who may have some experience in this thats all.

The TSH is below the norm range
Do you have any physical symptoms of hyperthyroidism?

Best to ask for a referral to an endocrinologist
