Any Dentists here?

I've had a tooth abcess (which dentist thinks is due to having a dodgy tooth - only the back part of tooth is still here!). Emergency dentist last monday (bank holiday) give my penacilin, but how will I know when it has gone as I need to have the tooth removed.

I have a dentist appointment booked for early this week, but don't want to go if they can't remove the tooth anyway.

I think the only way you will know is if you go to the appointment and let the dentist have a look and tell you if the infection has gone. They will assess if they will root fill the tooth or take the tooth out then. HTH, and good luck
