mirena coil - bleeding. Is this a problem?

I had a mirena coil put in in October. One of its upsides, according to the doctor, was no more periods, or much reduced.

Since then, periods have been erratic and usually only lasted a day or two. But now I've had a period for about three weeks. It just goes on and on and on like a **ing Duracell bunny. It's not heavy but it is annoying. Plus I am spotty, which is something I thought I left behind in the 80s, along with lacy gloves and crucifix earrings.

Anyone else had this experience? Is it normal or should I go to the doctor's? Thank you

Normal, took 2 years for mine to settle down but they're pretty good now, shame I'll need it replaced in a couple of years, starting to wish they lasted 10 yrs

I had the coil fitted in Sept and have experienced the same thing. HAd no periods since the birht of ds2 so am really annoyed to have these drawn out ones now. Like you I have light bleeding for 2-3 weeks, along with the moods and cramps that make periods such joy. Was going to go back to the doctors, but thought it was probably something that will settle down

Glad to hear it's not just me, in the nicest possible way. I'm the same had got used to no periods after years of pregnancies and bfing, so an endless one is a pita. If it continues (with the zits) it'll be bye bye coil and dh will have to finally be forced into having the snip!
