I have had awful indigestion for about a week or so. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat I seem to get it. I do eat rather fast - my husband blames that, but why am I only getting it now. Have any of you ever indigestion that has gone on this long. If so what was the cause.

You could try digestive enzymes - they help your body to digest the food better Solgar are great - I used them when pg and they realy helped a lot.

I would recommend you chew your food at least 20 times before swallowing as a lot of the digestive process starts in the mouth with the saliva breaking down the food - if not it makes it hard for your stomach to cope with it.

Do you drink a lot of fizzy drinks? They can cause acid stomach and also try not to drink with meals as it dilutes the stomach acid.

If you are stressed then it can cause stomach acid too - so try some relaxation methods.

It can just happen - or build up slowly.

Thank you for your reply. No I don't drink fizzy drinks except at the weekend. I will try and get a hold of Solgar and see if it helps. I have been a bit stressed recently - too many things to do and not enough time to do them in!! I will try and not eat as fast either. I feel I am always rushing at meals and don't take time. Time to take some time to relax. Thanks again for your reply.
