My DD who is coming up 3 has just discovered her 'bits' and at the weekend I noticed a discharge it was slightly tinged green.
Freaked out abit, called NHS that said it could be from urthea or vagina. or maybe some broken sking on the lips(they were tiny bit sore..guess where she was fiddling!!)
Took her to doctors...but there was no discharge in pants then. so he said just use caneston on the outside lips and take swap home incase it happens again.
No other symptoms...peeing ok..pooing ok..no temperature..eating..sleeping..tantruming!!!
Anyone elses DD had this. Feels bit odd...don't expect this in girl so young but I'm guess they are more likely to get bacterial infection same as us...especially if fiddling with dirty hands??

Please tell me nothing to worry about.....

I don't have a daughter, but is it possible she's put something inside herself?

My dd is older than yours (now 6) but we've had the same prob a number of times now. Gp says its poor hygeine (in my dd's case, she doesn't wipe her bottom properly - in your dd's case, it is most probably her hands).

Gp advised us to monitor dd's toilet hygeine closely and to avoid bubble bath etc.

It is v common apparantly.

it's scary but pretty common.

bubble bath, swimming pools, highly scented washing powder and generally being unwell can cause this. if it gets smelly or doesn't go away, take her back but otherwise, reduce scented products and distract her from fiddling and it'll probably go away.

the fiddling is normal by the way. my eldest utilises the arm of the sofa on a regular basis... a tad embarrassing.

My dd had this once after swimming (she was 18mths). I was told that it was nothing to worry about, but remember being quite freaked out by the green nappy.
