Sorry chaps, it's me and my stomach again...Anyone who has had h.pylori do they really need to dx it with a gastroscopy? I thought they could do a blood or poo test? Just booked mine but all the threads on here and the h pylori website seem to say that dx is far easier than a nasty tube down your gullet? Is it so they can check for ulcers?

I had the gastroscopy, I'm afraid. And yes, they were looking for ulcers. Which they didn't find but they did find sites where they were developing. Followed by huge antibiotics dose.

Its nasty but over pretty quickly. And it was all worth it to get to the drugs and be free of the sickness, which was making me utterly miserable.

Hope they get you sorted out.

I thought there was a breath test they could do... but it is a while since dh had his- might be worth asking.
