6 months old.
Assumed he was coming down with slapped cheek as his sister is just getting over it.
Are cold bits and the sweet smell anything to worry about?

custard? Has dd been near him?
no idea, but bumping for you...

I'm sorry your little boy is poorly but thats the best thread title I seen for a while. My kids smell like pear drops when they are ill.

PinkTulips · 09/04/2009 15:04

homemade or packet?

they're quite differant you know

sewriously, have no idea... maybe the sweet smell is just his 'sweaty smell'. dp and dd both smell of bricks and mortar when they sweat

Oh hello - thanks for the bump EPPM.

I think that maybe the custard smell is just strong wee (not drinking enough) and disposable nappy chemicals, though I had thought the other night that it was on his breath.

Nothing came of his cold bits, and they still vary between being really hot and quite chilly.

He has taken in more fluids today I think, which we're taking as a good sign.

(We think he most likely has slapped cheek syndrome, but no rashes/red cheeks as yet).

DD always had cold hands/feet/ears/nose when she had a temperature- I think their bodies just focus on trying to fight the infection so heat the organs, IYSWIM, rather than waste energy warming bits that aren't so important.
