I am now on 9th day of my period. Am still having the brownish blood and today a brownish clot. This is fairly standard since my 3rd dc. Anyone else have similaMy smear is due in about 6 months?

Hi Prosecco. Don't want you to go unanswered, but I don't have any similar experience.

You should probably should get it checked out...either go to your GP or google it...but don't frighten yourself!!

I was bleeding between periods and have been diagnosed with a cervical polyp - is totally harmless but needs small op.

Go to your GP, don't live with the worry.

NoBiggy · 07/04/2009 17:38

Yes, mine go on for ages (11 days not unusual).

I've finally decided to do something about it and I'm seeing my GP in a couple of weeks. I'm expecting to find out I'm anaemic, if nothing else.

Prosecco - I am just about to go to my Gp about the same thing since my 3rd dc. I have been waiting to have my coil taken out as Im sure that is making it worse, but dh has STILL not got the all clear from his vasectomy over a year ago. (he's had one test but has yet to phone for the results of the 2nd...grrr). I am really hoping it's just something small that can be fixed, rather than just getting old.

I had that last period, brown spotting for aaages afterwards and then a couple of brown clotty looking things, like a smear of treacle. It's only my second af post mc so I thought it might be something to do with that. Just had my smear so will know the results in a few weeks.

mummytopebs · 07/04/2009 20:17

I have had stupid periods since 2 mc last year, bleeding for ages, then late, brown clots, smelly stuff, treacle stuff. I have had swabs, antibiotics incase of infection and smear - all normal. Gp thinks maybe my body just sorting itself out!

brazenhussy · 07/04/2009 20:35

Prosecco - I have had this since DC5
My actual period only lasts three days then i have over a week of brown discharge and small brown mucus clots.

Cranberry · 08/04/2009 08:40

I had this for years even before children, I didn't ever think much of it. A few of my friends have now been complaining about it too?
Interestingly I have now started having this for a week before my 2 day period and not after? I am definately in the 'peri' so just assume it's hormonal.

Thank you all. I will go to see the gp but it is comforting to know I am not alone. Thanks again.
