If you are worried hun see your gp or go to your local walk in centre...

If in doubt check it out! Thats my motto!

We were at out of hours center at 11.30 today becasue my ds2 has a cough and a temp. I know my son and i know bu monday he will be really ill with a chest infection because its been a pattern since he was 5mths,(he's nearly 3 now). He's also a lot worse now thanb when Dr seen him, coughing up bogies as he told me before!

When he was 5mths i was told on the friday afternoon he was fine and I was worrying over nothing, by sunday lunchtime he was severely ill and becoming dehydrated. Took him to hosp to be told he should have been seen before he got to that state!

The moral of the story COVER YOUR BACK! Dont let some Dr that has just come out of nappies you didnt do your best!

Hope shes ok.

Is her breathing rougher or faster than normal or drawing her chest in around her ribs. When dd started Bronchiolitis, which is triggered by the RSV cold virus, the first symptom we noticed was her cry became more like a cat's meow, then she couldn't keep anything down and became dehydrated, and couldn't breathe deeply.

I don't want to worry you unnecessarily but it is worth getting her checked over to eliminate such things. Bronchiolitis is very common among under 1's, as is croup but can be easily treated at home when caught early.

hope all is ok.

thanks guys - she is really struggling to breathe properly, and her cry is really sore sounding - its as if she os going to lose her voice - no temp - just snotty nose and the throat - being sick a bit more than usual. general view is to get her checked then?!

jessicas mummy

i would either call nhs 24 or casualty. my eldest son and youngest twin had these symptoms too at different times of course.

they were both admitted to hospital and found to have bronchilitis- eldest is now asthmatic.

You are mummy and know your child, dont let docs make you feel you are over reacting,

PLEASE GO TO DOCS TODAY!!!!

How is she now ?

jessicasmummy · 26/04/2005 06:31

she seems not too bad actually - got some Meltus cough syrup for her and her throat seems so much better - and she is a lot happier too - maybe i was worrying over nothing!
