So I have UTI
5 days something or other
5 days trimethoprim

& a clear sample at the hospital (well it has pus but no infection)

So why do I still feel so crap?

I have urgency, frequency, I keep wetting myself , back pain & now thrush

Water or peach juice

It'd ditch the peach, it's slightly acidic. I'd also swap the water. When I drink H2O it does funny things which mean I'm on the loo for the next hour and it comes out in drips frequently.

Try: Fruit tea, decaf coffee, hot chocolate, you can get low sugar lemonade, blackcurrent juice. You do normally get fluid from food aswell.

No low sugar anything artificial sweeteners cause all sorts of problems

I thought coloured juices were worse (hence the avoidance of my fav ribena) - I will revert

Off to bed (after I do another wee at least it stops at night - thought I get up once or twice to drink)

I still think it is something to do with my blood sugar

You can water it down so it just has a smidgen of black current. I water down juice (orange/apple/pineapple), they have less acid in them this way and do not make me attached to the loo. Decaf coffee/tea, hot chocolate are also good. You don't have to stick to juice and water.

Water really is bad for some.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 07/04/2009 22:37

Could be blood sugar. have they not checked it?

KatyMac · 07/04/2009 22:40

weak tea is ok
coffee never (makes me heave)
as would chocolate (unless they make one without milk)

I have a lot of soup

water without anything makes me pass out/get dizzy dependant upon when I last ate

My blood pressure is low & my urine always negative to sugar

I thiink it's al connected

OP posts:
KatyMac · 07/04/2009 22:41

& possibly with my ME & IBS too

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 07/04/2009 22:43

IBS would give you constipation/diarhhoea. Constipation can cause UIT's as it squishes the bladder.

Have they not done a fasting blood sugar blood test?

KatyMac · 07/04/2009 22:45

No

I am going to write it all down - get a doubel appointment with my GP & try & sort it out

UTI
I drink more than I used to plus I am getting up at night to drink
Weeing lots
Not being able to drink water without getting dizy
IBS
ME

Maybe find a GP you've not seen before? A fresh opinion?

KatyMac · 08/04/2009 07:46

Sorry I went off to bed

Maybe a different GP is an idea - there are certainly enough of them at the practice
