Anyone know much about diabetes?

Have to have a fasting blood test this am to check for diabetes.

I'm curious as have just tested my blood with an old kit I was given when I had gestational diabetes and its 6.7

As far as my memory goes this is a bit raised for first thing in the morning but not dire.

However, by the time I have got the 2 DC dressed and out the door, and done a brisk walk to the docs won't it have gone down and therefore look normal?

Whish is clearly what I hope as don't want to be diabetic!!

Hi Marm. Have you tried testing your blood 2 hours post food? This may give you an idea of what your sugars are running at throughout the day.

Following on from your fasting blood sugar, if this is raised you will be sent for a glucose tolerance test (you probably had this when you had gestational diabetes).
