What could cause this?

I have checked and I don't have any breast lumps so i am sure its nothing sinister!

get it checked by your gp, a nipple that has previously been 'normal' and then becomes inverted should be investigated

beansontoast · 31/03/2009 19:29

any nipple weirdness should be checked i think

Warmseabreeze · 31/03/2009 19:33

Its not inverted all the time, I've just noticed it a few times, and I can make it come back out again... very strange

Agree get it checked; any change in nipples or appearance of the breast need to be investigated.

go to the gp... book in the morning.

I could be a sign of breast cancer.

My Nana had this. No other signs, in fact she was more concerned about the freckle/mole on her breast and she showed it to me, which was when I saw the inverted nipple.

GP.

Tomorrow.

It not I

Elibean · 01/04/2009 09:49

GP, absolutely.

That said, don't imagine the worst either - I had a nipple that did very weird things for a while, was just hormonal. But I got it thoroughly checked out, was sent to a breast surgeon for mammos and ultrasounds, etc.

Good luck, let us know!

I never used to have inverted nipples, but I do now my boobs just lost all their substance once I stopped breastfeeding ds1 and they basically collapsed, my nipples going with them - my first sign of pregnancy with ds2 and dd was my nipples coming out again - but they're inverted again now - happened with one first, then both of them went

I did get it checked by the gp but there was nothing sinister, so nipple changes aren't always terrible

Ozziegirly · 03/04/2009 02:23

Please get it checked - this was my grandma's first sign of breast cancer as well.

It's probably NOT, as I'm sure there are all sorts of other things that could cause it, so don't want to scaremonger, but please get it checked out.

Thank you all for your replies . My GP is calling me on Monday morning about abnormal thyroid results so I'll mention it to her then.
