I have just got back from having a routine smear. The nurse was doing an examination and found what she thought was a polyp, she asked a doctor to confirm. I have now been referred to see gynaeo? And am basically now shitting myself. I have never had problems with my fanjo (can't believe I just typed that considering I hate the word)not even a bout of thrush.
Someone tell me you have had similar and found out it was nothing to worry about
I am now off to google.

Ah now, I had a large polyp identifed at my last smear test and haven't been referred on. So now I'm getting worried that you have and I haven't...

Anyway, I was told that as long as the smear was clear, there was nothing to worry about.

Smear test have always been normal in the past. Presumably I will get the results for this one in a few weeks. She said the polyp was fairly large and suggested it should be remoed, ok fine. But what if it is a dodgey polyp?

Polyps aren't dodgy though, are they? They'd better not be. It's been a year since my smear...

Ok, I've arrived back after ferociously googling and apparently it's very rare for a polyp to be malignant. 1%, which of course will be me (just the way my pessimistic mind works)
