dizziness

I woke up this morning feeling really dizzy, bearly fell over several times and felt as though I was going to faint. It has got better through the day but hasn't gone away. I had a heavy cold last week, which I know can affect balance, so I am guessing it may be due to that, but whilst I have had plenty of colds before, I have never had this - any ideas?

If you've had the cold it could be coming from your ears.

thanks coco, that seems to be the consensus (between work colleagues and my mum at least!)

i had similar a couple of weeks ago, felt almost like i was drunk, gp told me there is a virus going round (cant remember what its called) that causes this, i felt better after a couple of days

duckyfuzz · 25/03/2009 20:31

dizzyness, felt abit sick (because i felt dizzy i think) and abit like i was getting a cold that never arrived. like i said the dizzyness was like when you have a bit too much to drink and then lay down and the room spins!

yes, that's what mine is like now, was much worse first thing and a few times through the day. I'll see GP if its still bad tomorrow I think

I'd go to Dr, I had this years ago and it was a middle ear infection and I needed AB's. Make sure your Dr checks your ears mine, wrongly, diagnosed vertigo without checking my ears first.

I went to Dr this week with the same thing. She said a virus going around can cause Labyrinthitis which is something to do with your middle ear. I had it for 3 weeks then took some pills for 4 days and now it's almost done. Apparently it can last anywhere between 3 - 8 weeks obviously not as bad as first thing this morning.
I kept bumping into the door frames and feeling like I was on a roller coaster making me feel sick, horrible.
Get some tablets off the Dr's and you'll soon feel better
