might be ringworm.

belgo · 22/03/2009 08:25

ringworm?

funny reaction to bites?

Mandragore · 22/03/2009 08:36

Ringworm has a bumpy texture.

Sounds like ringworm to me too. You can easily get it treated. Sounds gross though, huh?

WowOoo · 22/03/2009 08:49

Just read that you CANT feel it, sorry. Let us know what it is. Is it itchy at all? Can she feel it?

I used to enjoy biting my arm which left round marks but not in those places.

did DD have it checked out?

Is it being treated?

Mummyella · 22/03/2009 23:52

Is it quite faint? My daughter gets something like this which comes and goes. Have taken her to the doctors with it twice but both times it had faded by the time we got the appointment and I was fobbed of as a nutty hypochondriac mum. I have no idea what it is, but decided I didn't think it was ringworm as it looked to be discoloration under the skin. It hasn't got any worse over time, but sometimes is clearly visible ond other times very difficult to see. Mainly on her feet.

id say ringworm. its viral..not a worm! its hard to get rid of. you can get cream from the pharmacist. keep using it for a couple of weeks after you think its gone. you can catch it form pets. its heals from the inside out hence the ring shape.

Floatylight · 23/03/2009 21:39

Does it look like this

If so it's ringworm which is a fungal condition, nothing to do with worms.

My DCs have both had ringworm, it is very contagious and quite often picked up from swimming pools etc. It is usually a bit bumpy though. Best to get it checked out, and if it is ringworm make sure you don't share towels etc. Can take a while to get rid of but doesn't do any harm!
