Why? She's dry in the daytime, I haven't changed the kind of washing powder I use, don't put bubbles and stuff in the bath, and she's had them for about 2 weeks, so it's not the beginning of measles or anything, and she's otherwise absolutely fine - no sign of any cold or illness.

I'm baffled!

OK one last bump before I give up on this. Doesn't anyone have any idea why this could be?

No ideas I'm afraid. Have you tried applying something like sudocrem to it to see if it just clears up?

Caligula · 20/04/2005 21:44

Thanks Chonky - will try that

how old is she?

dd is just over 3 and i've noticed the same. about 3-4 spots on her bottom and back of upper legs. no idea what they are. like you, we don't do anything unusual. she wears a nappy at nightime but it's dry.

Caligula · 21/04/2005 06:29

She's 3. It's just very strange isn't it?!

very strange. i keep wondering what it is but she's absolutely fine, just like your dd. i'm thinking of washing her pants by hand with something mild like baby soap and rinse them really, really well. the detergent seems the only idea at the moment, but then again it's only located in that area and I haven't used a new brand or anything. maybe they get hot in their nappies? even if they're dry??

could it be eczema, my dr has aid it is a possibility and apparently some children only get it there!! are they pimples or reddish marks? my daughter has them and so does my son..weve had lots of different drs dx and no one has helped ..its a bit strange..theres been an allergy to bed mites/ dust mites( but why only on bottom or top of legs) then there was insect bites..hmmm! it was the middle of winter!! then the last has been scabies..but its def not that as ive seen it in a nursery i worked in and we went to our local out of hours drs and they said no way was it scabies but didnt know what it could be either..hmm..what fun!!
