As the title suggeest I have been bleeding now for over two weeks this is my second period since having DS in September by C Section & its so heavy & full of clots thats its starting to freak me out!
The first period I had after pregnancy was like this but I expected the second to be a little better, its not painful at all but its so bad last night in bed I leaked through onto the bedding & have never done that before, it does not seem to be letting up at all?
I am going to the doctors next week to get some sort of contraception & was going to ask for the patch (as im rubbish at remembering to take it!) in the hope it will sort my periods out.
Anyone else had heavy bleeds after pregnancy?

My first after my second child was horrendous!!!! I started a thread just like yours and discovered I was not alone

Two weeks does sound particularly awful though...........

Yes. I have had 3 periods since having my 2nd baby by c-section in November. The first period was short and light. The last two have been incredibly heavy and lasted for over a week, although not painful. Not sure if it's something to worry about or not? Don't remember having this after last section, though. Hmmm.

Mine have become stupidly heavy since having ds .. but that is 4 years ago now. I went to the dr and was prescribed tranexamic acid which definitely helps. If I dont take it then I am literally tied to the toilet the entire time!

This happened to me too. But the third one was much better, and now I'm back to normal. DS was born in May.

But two weeks of heavy bleeding is a lot - you might want to have your iron checked or get some medication to help slow the bleeding. I'd see your GP, or at least get going on some iron supplements (spatone mineral water sachets are really good)

Thank you for all your replies, I do feel a little better now, this morning the bleeding seems to be a little lighter which can only be a good sign, I am still going to the Dr on Tuesday & will aswk about it but also hope once I start with the contraception patch (if they'll give it to me) it will help matters even more. Could do with checking my iron as was low later in pregnancy with DS & may be could do with a boost. Thanks.
