My MIL recently had shingles along a nerve on her forehead, and around her eye. She was in pain for a couple of weeks, and felt tired and poorly, but was not bedridden or anything. I think it probably depends where abouts you have shingles as to how badly it affects you. I would have thought that you would be able to care for your daughter, although you will proabably have to slow things down for a while. I understand that you can catch chicken pox from shingles if you haven't already had it, so your daughter may be at risk there. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Poor you, I remember my Mum had it when I was about 11 and she was in quite alot of pain, but I know from MIL experience that drugs have improved considerable in teh last 30 years. Hope things aren't too bad for you and DD is fine.
