I had a coil fitted after 3 sections didn't even know there was any anesthetic available, have since found out that you can have local anesthetic.....

Unless she has other reasons why it might be tricky - people are sometimes reluctant to fit coils in people who havent had a baby - I suppose if you had only has sections it might be the same from that point of view as having never had a baby? I have had 2 sections and a coil, but I have also had a VB, so maybe that changes things.

That rings a bell Tigger, as it was a bit 'ouch'!

not at all true - 3 sections here. No more uncomfortable than a smear. Not a mirena though.

walkthedinosaur · 16/03/2009 19:21

I've had 2 sections and a mirena fitted, absolutely fine, didn't hurt in the slightest. She's fine.

I've also had 2 sections and a mirena fitted, although I did have a cervical block to put the mirena in because I have a tilted uterus. The block was great and I didn't feel a thing.

I had my coil fitted after two sections - a little discomfort but nothing major, I took paracetamol beforehand.

In fact, I have had it removed today as the 5 years is up.

I had a Mirena fitted before I'd ever been pg.
