Help Dd1's got seriously itchy legs

Since she got home about an hour ago dd has been scratching and scratching at her legs, they are red raw now and she's drawn blood.

No where else itches,, just her legs.

What can it be ?? and what can i do ???

The proper name is Henoch-Schonlein Purpura. Its basically a viral infection that the body triggers after maybe a cold or other infection. It attacks the joints which become sore and swollen and it can also affect the kidneys. A rash starts at the top of the legs and usually the buttocks. But most kids start with an itching in their legs and thats why I was asking. It may well not be what your dd has so I will appologise if I have got you worried.
