im so ill

been up all night with d&v and now i have a temp
nhs direct say its a tummy bug so have asked my parents to take the kids to their house
im so weak ,no sleep so thirsty too want to guzzle but scared of being sick again (havent done since about 3.30am)
looking for some sympathy really ,dh has gone to work as they cant manage without him
anyone know how long theese things last for?

am anti backing the place i really dont want the kids to get it
its very nasty

Sorry to hear you're ill. I had a similar bug last week which lasted 48 hours. It was horrid. Try to drink little and often. Perhaps get your parents to get some dioralyte in for you. I also liked the resolve sachets as I had a bad dehydration headache.

If you can get your parents to have the kids, just stay in bed.

Start with small sips and hopefully they'll stay down.

Candy how many doses of the anti b's had you taken before you started being ill ??

Just asking because on xmas eve 07 I took one dose of anti b's for a possible ear infection and about 2 hours later I started being violently ill with d&v, temp, shakes everything. The vomitting was uncontrolable and so violent.

I did ask at the tim if it could be down to the ab's but was told it was probably a bug. It does sound very similar to what you have though.

ive taken amoxicillin before and never been ill
think im gonna call the gp and ask for advice

whats the alternitive to pencillin for an absess ?

I had had ab's before as a child but not as an adult at all.

I had only taken one tablet. My gp said it was hard to tell if it was a reaction or a bug but I will never be taking them again thats for sure.

I am not sure what you can be given as an alternative but there should be something.

spoke to the oncall doctors and she told me that she thinks it wasnt the penecillin as you wouldnt get a fever with it,she's thinks its coincidence
told me to take some diocalm ,which i have done
she wants me to continue with the amoxicillin but am sooooooooooo scared to
incase i throw up again
even though i have nothing to throw up now my stomach is empty
what would you do ?

Honestly, if it were me, wild horses couldn't make carry on with the anti b's.
