Bleeding after smear test

Have had this 4 times
usually lasts a few days for me...spots on the second day ...old blood
The gp explained why it happened last time i went (something about an overturned opening of the cervix...sorry that's all i remember ) and she did it that time and i didn't bleed

yes I do, and it usually ruins the test and they have to do it again!
