It doesn't hurt. It's a bit uncomfortable though. Made me feel a bit sick with all that fullness and massaging my colon.

I don't know that I'd recommend it. I did it as part of a seven day fast in Thailand many moons ago. I looked and felt fantastic afterwards mind but it was a long slog, that seven days. I was only 26.

I had one about 5 years ago as I suffer IBS and I thought it might help. Didn't make a jot of difference, didn't feel particularly refreshed as I thought I would, in fact didn't really feel any different. Twas an experience though but wouldn't waste my money doing it again.

LOL Mutt-have been reading Jason Vales book, and it has in it about years old peices of meat rotting in your colon, so i thought i'd quite like to get it out

I am having the entire length of my bowels examined intimately with an endoscope in a few weeks time. [I know TMI]

The stuff they give you is something called Picolax that 'empties' you completely. I had it once before and you could have dropped a marble through from top to bottom. I have seen the pictures - it was completely pink and shiny all the way down from my mouth to anus.

Didn't make me feel good at all.

gingerninja · 10/03/2009 20:14

Where are you? I used the Hale Clinic in London. I think the seven year old bits of meat are a nonsense. Your colon is a piece of fine tuning and you really wouldn't have meat sitting there for that long. I can honestly say there was nothing suprising about what I saw coming out of my colon. Personally I wouldn't recommend it because I think it's a waste of money but if you've never had one I guess you'll always wonder....

"years old peices of meat rotting in your colon"

That is not how the body works!

that anyone would believe that.

He is an ignorant buffoon.

A friend of mine just had one: "Unpleasant, and a waste of money".
Why would you want to have this done rather than something pleasant spa-like ie Indian Head Massage or something else blissful?
At least it will be nice...

ABetaDad · 10/03/2009 21:01

A really good session of reflexology (stimulating energy points on the foot) is very relaxing.

I get rid of migrane without drugs by squeezing and massaging my big toes that represent the head in relfexology.

NeedCoffee · 10/03/2009 21:04

cote-maybe so, he's got some good reviews-have only just got his book off ebay so will have a read before passing judgement.

Mummy-i'm not good at relaxing with stuff like that anyway, i just want to feel lighter S'pose I should just stop eating choc then. hmph! Thanks for telling me about you're friend.

Am going to look further into it, if i can find somewhere round here. Will report back if i get it done
