A question about *whispers* fanny farts (for want of a better word)

I can't quite believe that I'm posting this but will remind myself that no one here knows me.

Since having dd in July I have a strange sensation when, ahem, passing wind. Basically it often feels like it's coming from my vagina. If I squeeze my bum cheeks to hold one in it seems to find an alternative route. I'm completely mortified and feel like I have no control over it. I'm dreading going back to work in case it happens there (it usually occurs a few times a day).

Could it be that my muscles are really weak and the problem could be rectified with exercises? Or could there be some kind of tear inside? I had a normal delivery - no tears or stitches, but obviously I don't know what's gone on inside. I know the advice will probably be 'see your gp' and I will try to pluck up the courage, but I wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar and could offer any advice?

Thanks in advance.

patiently waits and hopes she's not the only one

oh you are definitely NOT the only one! Six years on..it's still embarrassing doing yoga in public. Standing on my head? No way.

I think you have to continue doing pelvic floor exercises - really squeeze everything together whenever you think of it.
Apparently in France they have paid post-natal fanjo physiotherapy.

I knew a girl at school who could fanny fart on command.
Its normal just a weird thing that out bodies do. Why I don't know. At least it has nothing to do with what you ate.Can you imagine a post curry meal fanny fart

Thanks. I shall keep doing the exercises and hope for the best! I was just out and I had to stop walking and pretend to see to dd to stop one. I can just about manage it standing still but have no hope whilst moving!

at fanny farting on demand! Why would you want to?!
