For a variety of reasons, I banged my head very hard on Friday night, and now I'm a wee concerned....

I can't remember anything that happened after then until I woke up on Saturday morning and I don't remember drinking that much.

I had the most GODDAWFUL headache yesterday - again, don't recall drinking much, and didn['t feel otherwise hungover but was very sleepy.

Still have a headache today, and feel a bit nauseous.

MUST I go to the doctor? Can it wait until tomorrow?

It was the back of my head I banged but I wasn't knocked out.

Maybe ring NHS Direct and ask for some advice. It doesn't sound too good not being able to remember anything until the next morning, especially if you didn't drink much.

no chance your drink was spiked is there?

That is a good point badkitten makes, I think you should definitely get some advice at the very least, if not get yourself down to your out of hours GP today.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

A similar thing happened to my dad. He lost some memory and had a bad headache - during the day, not drunk! He went to a&e and they didn't know what it was, though with a history of heart probs they guessed it was something circulatory. Dad went home and the next day found a massive lump on his head with a scab (a&e are useless) and he's pretty sure it was concussion as no further tests found anything with his heart etc. He was knackered for a few days but made a full recovery.

You should really get it checked out - I think if concussion is suspected they're supposed to keep you in for observation overnight, but of course, am no doctor!

get well soon!

I bashed my head really badly last Friday afternoon. I was very confused, forgetful and kept 'losing' words. I was wobbly, headachey and had migraines about 3 times a day, until Tuesday or Wednesday. On Tuesday morning no less than 5 people knocked on my door before 10am to make sure I'd at last called the doc; I hadn't, but did then. By then I wasn't nearly as bad; doc said that the only thing he could do was order a CT scan and he didn't think that was necessary, but to come back to him immediately if symptoms worsened or returned. Nothing happened, and I continued to improve. Pretty much OK now, though still have a bit of a lump and it's still a bit tender.
