Oh what a week ....something else going wrong

DP been sent home from work after getting an awful pain in his balls .I have been on NHS direct and it says to go to A&E !!!! He thinks he has a UTI (has had backache since the weekend and hurt when weeing)and wants to go to drop in at gp's in morning .

He is is not writhing around but looks miserable .

BTW one of his balls does look swollen .

Get it seen to sooner rather than later. Can't you ring GP now and see him before they close?

NHS Direct are right. He should go to A&E.

I would get it seen sooner rather than latter....I know that little boys can get their balls in a twist which can be really really serious.

Don't know if it applies to gown men though.

Yes I googled it and men can get them in a twist .

In that case I say he needs medical assessment ASAP.

I have shouted at him and told him his balls are in danger of dying but he will not go .

SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND GET MEDICAL ATTENTION. MY NEPHEW HAD A STRANGULATED TESTICLE AND WAS REALLY POORLY AND NEARLY LOST HIS TESTICLE. IT NEEDS TREATING WITHIN HOURS.

Good for you. They seem to spend so much time playing with them you'd think they'd look after them better.......

How is he today? Did he go to the dr?

My nephew also had strangulated testicle. GOt to A&E in the nick of time.

My ds1 also had this. He had been experiencing pain on and off all weekend but because he has a disability that ofen causes him pain I assumed it was to do with that. I took him to gp on the monday am and he was in hospital having surgery by 11.00a.m. I was well and truely told off by the doctor at A&E for not taking him sooner. Ds was extremely lucky not to lose his testicle. They reckoned it had been twisting and untwisting so the blood supply wasn't cut off all the time as they said it would have certainly been "dead" if it had been twisted for 2 days.
Hope your DP is ok today.

{angry] no he did not go . He is at the drop in now .

He had a hot bath (his answer for everything) and then perked up enough to try and get frisky with me so even I thought then he couldn't be in that much pain if he culd think about sex (he didn't get any BTW) .

He thinks he has a uti maybe that is due to teh fact he won't drink water and only wants to drink tea with three sugars coke or energy drinks bloody stupid man .

So he was very perky last night and even helped my dbro put a wardrobe up but this morning we have the poorly sick and dying man back grimacing if one of the dc need a drink or help fastening their cardigans .

Oh and then I gave him a sample bottle I can't aim into that says he ! So has now can to gp with no sample and will have to risk getting pissy trousers when he misses while aiming in the doctors toilets .

I did try and scare him to go to a&e by showing him gory pics and mentioning gangerine but of course he knows best .

Ho hum .
