Advice needed please

DD3 has always been a icky child but in the last 6 weeks she has had a ear infection, a chest infection which resulted in operation for grommets being cancelled,which she eventually had done last week, an allergic reaction to something over the weekend which took 24 hours to subside and lo and behold she gets up this morning and has yet another chesty cough ? chest infection although she is well enough for nusery!

Sorry about the long post but she's been thru' such alot and never complains. I wondered if anybody knew of any remedys we could use to boost her immnune system??

Check with the pharmacist I always the best bet, for older kids you can use echinecha (spelling?)to boost the immune system (thank you mumsnetters for letting me know about this) you may be able to get a tonic in a bottle from the chemist for your smaller one, but if you ask me the best cure of all would be a nice holiday in the sun, which usually scuppers all illnesses! but that can be a bit pricey....hope you get it sorted soon, it can be such a drag when they're always ill.....(sympathy as dd was ill with assorted things for 1st three mths this year, only cured by Florida, and now we're skint!)

i don't know how old your child is but make sure she has either live yoghurt or a dairy free equivalent. Very important for immune system.

and lots of vit C and zinc. Need both to work. Fresh friut. Kiwis, papayas. Soory if too obvious!

frisbe I particularly liked the idea of the holiday!!however a trip to the health food shop/chemist would suit DH bank manager better!!

Ruty, She always has a balanced diet with fresh fruit and veg (much to her disgust)but may try the live yoghurt. Cheers
