Sorry if this is too much information - since I had DD 12 weeks ago, my deodorant does not last the whole day any more! I stink! I have tried different brands as the anti-white marks one has always been less affective but am now forced to conclude it's me so now showering twice a day and topping up roll on. It's horrible! Could it be hormonal? DP thinks it might be stress. Well, I am perfectly happy but do feel hassled a bit due to not getting stuff done so it's possible I suppose. Is it a common thing after a baby? I have never had this in my life before.

Are you BF?

I was told that the glands that are stimulated whilst BF are the same as sweat glands so when feeding it also stimulates your sweat glands (or something!)

I'm the same - I feel like a stinky hag

I had this after DS2, it went eventually. Try Mitchum deodorant (I got some in Tesco) - it says 48h on it so must be pretty hardcore

Mama, I'm not bf, no. Just as well as frankly poor DD doesn't want to get any closer to me at present, poor mite!

Thanks LadyofWaffle. I will try it. Anything to stop honking like a fat long distance trucker.

hormones. Have you had any hot flushes/sweats at night ? I had them for a few weeks after both dc and it was gross !

Millytwohearts · 27/02/2009 16:31

Yep, I had ( and am having night sweats) with both my DDs, my second is 10 weeks now and I am still having them.
Doc says its hormones and will go eventually.
Meanwhile I wear PJs and change them in middle of night. often wringing wet!
Twice daily showers help a lot!

mrsgboring · 27/02/2009 16:34

It will go eventually. I think it's partly your body getting rid of the extra fluid it used to make all the extra blood etc. running round your system. Why it's so smelly beats me but htere are doubtless theories floating about that it helps your DC to find you by smell.

Don't wear anything you're really fond of till it subsides. Some of my t-shirts just honked for ever more.

DD is 21 weeks and I'm still sweating like a pig crazy. I am breastfeeding though. I tried the mitchum and it did nothing for me. The best so far has been a dove stick.
