I have conjunctivitis - do I see GP?

DS2 has it, I saw a doctor on Sunday who gave me an ointment and now I have it. Does it just go away or do I have to see GP?

Some go away, some don't - personally, I'd go to GP because if its one that needs the antibiotic ointment, at least you'll get rid of it faster.

Poor you!

My eyes are scary red (the whites) - I have been to the GP both the last two days for severe ear ache then yesterday for a burst ear drum! I am ready to crawl under a rock...

You can buy the antibiotic ointment at the chemist without seeing your GP. Hope you feel better soon.

I would go to the dr's tbh.

Go to the chemist and ask for some chlorampehnicol drops. They are the antibiotics that the GP would give you but are available OTC.

ok, thanks, will pop to Llyods

Sometimes just cleaning the eyes with cotton wool pads soaked in cooled boiled water a good few times a day can be enough to get rid of the infection-this can also work with kids.
hope you feel better soon

Wonder if it would be too weird to clean it with milk, like I do DSs... But then I think I read it helps only because it's a sterile liquid...

Go to the gp or the infection might keep moving between you. I expect you do normal stuff - using separate towels, facecloths, changing bedding frequently etc etc.
