Having typed my symptoms into NHS Direct website, apparently I need to call 999!

I called the doctors to see if I could get in today, but they are shut on Saturday, so it said to ring NHS Direct. I went on their website, and typed in my symptoms, and it said I need to call 999!

I definitely think you should get checked out too, just to be on the safe side, but just to reassure you, I had very similar symptoms a couple of years ago when my dh was away and was on my own with 2 small children and was combination of GORD (Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disease - effectively very bad heartburn, acid reflux, oesphageal spasms etc - made worse by stress) and anxiety. Nothing too serious but I was very scared and rang NHS direct and they said they were sending ambulance too (I went to doctor on my own in end). Do get checked out asap though, as it wil either enable them to treat you or you will be relieved nothing and symptoms may well abate. Poor you though - let us now how you get on.

Is it your left arm? Very possibly a heart attack. Any nausea or tiredness? Woman having heart attacks often present with mild to severe crushing chest pain that radiates into left arm and left jaw.

Better to be safe than sorry. Get to A&E.

It may be indigestion or a chest infection. But you just dont know.

Any news?

LazyLinePainterJane · 22/02/2009 09:10

saltire?

Saltire · 22/02/2009 09:11

Saltire's DH here. She went to A&E yesterday at 09.30. She's been kept in over night, at the moment they are treating for "suspected" mild heart attack, and will continue to treat for and assume she has had one until they get the results of all the tests back. She was given the angina spray to test for angina, and had a very bad reaction to it, she fainted twice and was very sick.
She has had blood tests, ECG, heart monitors, x-rays etc.
I will post back later with any more news.
