It looks like it's active ingredient is Acetaminophen which is paracetamol.

doggiesayswoof · 20/02/2009 10:02

Dunno what the "Extra Strength" bit means but yes Tylenol is just paracetamol.

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 20/02/2009 10:05

Acetaminophen
Regular Strength TYLENOL contains 325 mg of acetaminophen and Extra Strength TYLENOL contains 500 mg of acetaminophen.

500mg paracetamol

look for 'Anadin' if you're in a corner shop or somewehere and can't get the unbranded stuff (which is always much cheaper)

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 20/02/2009 10:18

Yes as MrsBadger says always go for unbranded if you can, contains exactly the same ingrediants for pence rather than pounds.

American extra strength is equivilant to British bog standard paracetamol, which you can get for £0.23 per pack at Asda, for example.
