hi
background is I've never had one. I'm not sexually active (not sexually active as in never had sex!) and am late twenties. Been called for smears but declined to attend as I am pathologically terrified of having one done and signed a form to come off the screening programme as even getting the letters was giving me cold sweats! However I was diagnosed with (treatable) skin cancer last year and its made me realise that you can't play around with your health so booked a smear for next week with the practice nurse. Want to check they do offer them to people who aren't sexually active. I have looked at the NHS screening site and that does recommend you are still checked as they don't say there is no risk just low risk of cervical cancer?
