Blackheads

I have what I can only presume is a blackhead in my ear. Now I have had these before but this one feels like the size of a watermelon and is making my jaw sore too, which is a new one for me.
Apart from the usual sticking my finger in my ear to pop it how can I get it out? It is too painful for the finger thing and my jaw is killing me.

I would put some hot ( not burny hot) water onto cotton wool.. and place in ear to help it on it's way.. or sudocreme works well..
or infact both.

is it a zit or a blackhead??

LucyEllensmummy · 18/02/2009 20:32

i second BCNs, if you can get at it though, get a GOLD ring and run it over it, after the hot water, it should pop out - i do this for DPs spots, its great sport.

Wilkiepedia · 18/02/2009 20:35

You can get a great little contraption from body shop for blackheads that can get down your ear canal for blackheads (I'm not talking about ticking it all the way down either).

Pawslikepaddington · 18/02/2009 20:39

Ooh wilkie, I want one-what do they look like?

Wilkiepedia · 18/02/2009 20:46

here

Brilliant invention IMO

Pawslikepaddington · 18/02/2009 20:49

That is the best thing I have ever seen!! Will attack my nose and ears forthwith!

Wilkiepedia · 18/02/2009 20:51

Ha ha - I love love love it! Aren't we gross!!

Pawslikepaddington · 18/02/2009 20:53

Indeed we are-buy only secretly in our bathroom! Outwardly we are blemish free queens of the un-gross!

LouIsAHappyLittleVegemite · 18/02/2009 20:55

Normally I would attack with great joy but this thing feels like there is a small volcano in my ear. I sure it will be messy when it does pop . I may investigate the black head tool though...it has possibilties for hours of fun.

..if its that big and uncomfortable, it could actually be an ingrowing hair, and the hair follicle can become infected.

Maybe get someone else to lance it with a sterilised needle, very gently..

LouIsAHappyLittleVegemite · 18/02/2009 21:01

Thats all I need is hairy ears. My toes are hairy, I have recently discovered grey hairs...I might as well grow a wart.
Will try the hotwater on cotton bud thing then brute force.

OP posts:
Pawslikepaddington · 18/02/2009 21:46

But won't brute force hurt too much? I hate it when it makes my eyes water (but LOVE it when you get a really messy pop, or a really solid bit that you can fiddle with!)

LouIsAHappyLittleVegemite · 18/02/2009 21:59

Oh its going to hurt. Just moving my jaw from side to side is painful.

wilkie, that link is porn for spot poppers - i have to do my DPs (such a chore!) I am so getting one of those!

Pawslikepaddington · 18/02/2009 23:35

I couldn't pop someone else's for some reason-don't know why!

LucyEllensmummy · 19/02/2009 10:12

oh it is THE most satisfying thing in the world!!

Wilkiepedia · 19/02/2009 20:32

PMSL at porn for spot poppers...

I found a massive blackhead on my mum's back and I honestly and truly savoured every moment of getting it. But my mum shares my fetish - we are like chimps when we get together looking for blackheads. Ha ha - now we sound weird

DH gets really mad at me cos I will be gazing at him intently and he will say 'STOP LOOKING FOR THINGS TO PICK', and I innocently say 'What?! I wasn't! I was just looking at you'

I think I need therapy...

LucyEllensmummy · 19/02/2009 22:42

My DP really frustrates me, he will come home from work and ask me to get his spots - he does get quite a spotty back - Then he might have some real juicy muthas and he wimps out cos it hurts too much - the big wusser

LucyEllensmummy · 19/02/2009 22:44

If you need therapy then i do too - I used to be a vet nurse and if we had dogs in for cyst removal and they were squeezable, i used to simply adore squeezing all the pus out before they were removed, i bloody loved it. I got one on my mums dog once - it came out like fecking primula cheese spread - my mum nearly passed out, but iwas in my element
